until 2019 Summer Reading: A Universe of Stories!

  • Online registration starts the day after Memorial Day.
  • Reading starts the day after Memorial Day.
  • Prize Pick-up starts the first Monday in June.
  • Prize Pick-up, the Bead Bank, and Grand Prize Boxes close at 8p.m. on the last Wednesday in July.
  • Grand Prize winners are drawn at the Reader Reward Show.
  • Grand Prize winners will be notified by phone by 5 p.m. on the last Friday of July.
  • Grand Prizes may be picked up starting 9a.m. on the last Saturday of July and for two weeks after that.

Babies & Toddlers

Newborn to about 36 Months

  • Register online – just name and birthdate!
  • Print or pick up either a Baby Gamecard or a Toddler Gamecard.
  • Bring your completed Gamecard to the library or to a Bouncy, Toddler, or Active Story Time to earn frozen custard, bubbles, coupons from our Sponsors, and a Certificate as well as five chances to win Grand Prizes!
  • Get a Grand Prize Slip each time you attend a Story Time. Summer Story Times are held at the Mason Community Center and at a Deerfield Township Park (location to be announced).
  • Drop your Prize Slips in the Grand Prize Boxes at the library for a chance to win a bubble machine, gift basket, and more.

Ages 3 to Grade 6

  • Register online – just name, birthdate, and Fall school & grade!
  • Pick up a Reading Log.& your Reading Necklace with its collectible Summer Reading medallion at the library.
  • Read or listen to stories anywhere in the world. You earn one solid color bead for every 15 minutes. Mark your reading on your Reading Log.
  • Bring your Reading Log and Reading Necklace to the library to collect your prizes. Trade in your solid beads for fancy beads at the Bead Bank.
  • Put your Prize Slips in the Grand Prize Boxes for a chance to win one of many Grand Prizes.

Need MORE beads and Grand Prize Slips? 

  • Read more, lots more! Print or pick up an Extreme Reading Log to win more beads and Prize Slips.
  • Attend the library’s Preschool, Active, or STEM Story Times and Movies. Collect a Bonus Bead and a Grand Prize Slip  at each STEM Story Time or Movie you attend.

 

  • Note: 2019/20 MECC, Western Row, and Mason Intermediate students may receive PTO prizes only IF parents give us parental permission to share your information with your school.  PTO Flyer

Read, bead, & win!

Record reading time on your printed paper Reading Log or Extreme Reading Log. Bring your Log to the library during June and July to receive your beads . Trade in solid beads at our library Bead Bank for glittery, metallic, color-changing, or shape beads. Earn collectible beads by attending programs.

Earn a bead every 15 minutes and Grand Prize entry slips every 4 hours! Win Bonus prizes like frozen custard, a free Lazer Kraze mission, and more.

Grand prizes typically include Reds tickets, an Echo Dot, a Kindle Fire tablet, a Lego set, an Art prize, a Science prize, a Lazer Kraze gift card, Kings Island tickets, and more!
